     Dry Skin

     Characteristic

Dry skin has a low level of sebum and can be prone to sensitivity. The skin has a parched look caused by its inability to retain moisture. Dry skin      usually feels "tight" and uncomfortable after cleansing unless moisturizer or skin cream is applied. Chapping and cracking are signs of extremely      dry, dehydrated skin.
Dryness is exacerbated by wind, extremes of temperature and air-conditioning, all of which cause the skin to flake, chap and feel tight. It looks
dull, especially on the cheeks and around the eyes.

There are tiny expression lines on these spots and at the comers of the mouth.

     Cause of problem

  1. Exacerbated by wind, extremes of temperature and air-conditioning, exposure to sun.
  2. Oil glands do not supply enough lubrication to the skin.
  3. Could be due to a genetic condition.
  4. Poor Diet. Nutritional deficiencies, especially deficiencies of Vitamin A and B.
  5. Using strong chemical product or cosmetic.

     How to Care

  1. Never ever use hot water, it might cause broken capillaries. Always use room temperature water.
  2. Do not use a washcloth- a rough texture to wipe the face.
  3. Spray a face mist on the skin to keep skin moisture and hydrate. Do not choose mist with alcohol.
  4. Choose a gentle cleanser, a moisturizer that increases the water content of the outer layers of the skin.
  5. Massage the face with nourishing cream every night before retiring.
  6. Be generous with the cream in the areas surrounding the eyes where tiny lines and crow’s feet are born.
  7. Use a moisturizing mask twice weekly.

     Aging/ Wrinkle/ Sagging Skin

  1. Sunlight is a major cause of skin aging.

     Discoloration Skin

     Characteristic

The color of the skin is determined by the melanin or pigment in the skin, be it yellow, dark brown or black. Melanin is responsible for imparting      color to the skin, hair and iris of the eyes. Levels of melanin depend on race and amount of sunlight exposure. Melanin production increases with      exposure to the skin so as to protect the skin against harmful ultraviolet rays. A number of women have skin discoloration problems relating to      hormone changes and sun exposure.

     Open Pores Skin

     Characteristic

Typically, people with oily skin tend to have enlarged pores that secrete excess oil, or sebum. Larger pores are also more likely to get clogged with      dead skin cells, dirt, and bacteria.

  1. Open pores depends on the skin type:
    - Normal Skin fine, barely visible pores
    - Combination skin Visible pores on the nose and cheeks
    - Oily skin visible pores on the nose/cheeks but more dilated pores
    - Dehydrated and oily larger pores with hard pimples and blackheads
    - Dry skin almost invisible pores

     Cause of problem

  1. Skin pores are the openings of hair follicles, oil glands, and sweat glands.
  2. During facial treatment using the wrong way to squeeze blackhead and whitehead also lead to permanent widened pores
  3. Sunburn
  4. Pinching or gently slapping the skin of the cheeks to make them pink has a similar, temporary pore-shrinking effect.

     How to care

  1. Astringents containing acetone and alcohol can produce a temporary “shrinking” effect. It helps remove excess oil from the skin surface that makes the skin feel cool and tight.
  2. Exfoliate the skin 1-2 times per week.
  3. Never steam your face. It enlarges the pores. Cold compresses and ice packs are ideal to close open pores on skin.
  4. Always use oil-free or water base skin care products, not oil based.
  5. Wash your face thoroughly with soap and water three times a day to prevent oils from accumulating, clogging up, and distending the pores.
